Canyon Country West Crime Report: deputies investigate aggravated assault

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Aggravated Assault, (1) Residential Burglary, (3) Commercial Burglaries, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (2) Shoplift, (2) Grand Thefts, (1) Petty Theft and (1) GTA.

An aggravated assault occurred near the 20800 block of Centre Pointe Parkway. A male suspect hit the victim in the chest and shoulder area with a skateboard. After a short fight ensued, the suspect fled the location. The case is currently under investigation.

A residential burglary occurred near the 26800 block of Isabella Parkway. The victim woke up and saw a male suspect in her bedroom. When the victim screamed, the suspect fled with the victim’s purse.

Two commercial burglaries occurred near the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Road. Both incidents involved an unknown suspect shattering the front glass door of the location and ransacking front offices. The suspect(s) then kicked in an interior storage/office door at both locations. It is unknown if the incidents are related. Santa Clarita Valley Station Detectives are currently investigating both cases.

A male suspect was arrested for burglary/shoplifting near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel after attempting to exit the location without paying for items. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 19200 block of Newhouse Street. An unknown suspect pried open the trunk of one of the victim’s vehicles and attempted to break into a second vehicle parked at the location. It was undetermined at the time of the incident, if anything was taken.

A 2012 Kia Optima was taken from the driveway of the location near the 18500 block of Ironshire Street. The suspect took the keys to the vehicle, which were left in an open garage.
