Decorum is best in posting as in life

Regarding Betty Arenson’s letter to the editor about posters ("Pay no attention to the little man behind the pseudonym," July 4), I am compelled to write this letter.

I am the letter to the editor writer who submitted "Posters need to exhibit basic courtesy," published June 23, in hopes that it would be published.

The letter was basically a reminder to posters who respond in a less polite way to restrain your posts with decorum.

And lo and behold, there were 20 comments that pretty much summed up the contexts of the problem. However, the bulk of the comments were not so polite, which is par for the course, but the others were in favor of decorum.

I want to thank The SCV Signal for publishing my letter, and I would like to thank Betty Arenson for realizing the way that some of the posters are described, and she confronted the problem with a great letter.

At times it is difficult not to respond to some of the abusive and ignoble comments, but at times you have to "know when to hold them and when to fold them."
