City congratulated for Las Lomas purchase

The Santa Susana Mountain Park Association sent a congratulatory letter to the Santa Clarita City Council this week for the council’s agreement to purchase some 300 acres in the Newhall Pass for the Open Space Preservation District.

The stretch of land, which at one time had been considered for a massive development called Las Lomas, is a crucial wildlife corridor between the San Gabriel and Santa Susana mountains, park association President Teena Takata said in her letter to the council.
