Graduating seniors who have attended local schools for at least seven years have a chance at winning scholarship funds for college.

The SCV chapter of the Association of California School Administrators will award scholarships ranging from $250 to $500, depending on available funding. The scholarships will be presented at each school's Senior Awards Assembly.

Each applicant must submit a one-page essay honoring a local elementary or junior high school educator who has impacted the student's life. An application form, letter of recommendation from a high school educator and a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average are also required.

Each applicant must have already applied for admission into a trade school, community college or four-year college or university. Students have until March 30 to apply. Applications are available in the counseling offices of all Hart District high schools.
