SANTA CLARITA - Route 66 restaurant in Canyon Country will hold a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks during a special event Wednesday night.

A bag piper will proceed to the stage playing “Amazing Grace” during what is usually Bike Night at the Soledad Canyon Road business, and soloist will sing “God Bless America.”

Retired Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Howard Kaplan, who was sent to Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks, will tell about his experience in search and rescue and body recovery.

The restaurant will offer complementary dinners to active-duty military, police and fire personnel, restaurant owner George Thomas said.
