SANTA CLARITA - The father of missing teenager Bryce Laspisa had his vehicle burglarized while searching for his son in Castaic Tuesday afternoon, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputy Josh Dubin said the incident occurred in the early afternoon Tuesday when an informant notified deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station of a potential burglary.

Deputies responded to the scene shortly thereafter, according to Dubin.

The suspects, identified as a 27-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, both from Los Angeles, led deputies on a short pursuit in the unincorporated area of Castaic.

After a short while, the suspects’ vehicle became disabled and deputies were able to arrest the two occupants, Dubin said.

Deputies were able to recover some of the property that was taken from Laspisa’s father and discovered other items in the vehicle that may have been stolen, Dubin said.

The investigation is still ongoing, Dubin said. The identities of the alleged thieves have not been released.

Laspisa, 19, disappeared somewhere in the Castaic Lake area on Friday, Aug. 30. His vehicle was found on its side at the bottom of a 15-foot embankment.

Dubin said Laspisa’s father was in the Castaic area Tuesday to mount another search for his son.
