Award winning music director joins Saint Kateri’s

Victor Vanacore joined Saint Kateri’s Catholic church in Saugus as the new Director of Music.

With an extensive background in professional performances, including composition, and conducting, Vanacore’ work in spiritual music includes composing/arranging original neoclassical music based on the texts of Pope John Paul II, which was composed at the request of Placido Domingo.  

His liturgical compositions include an Our Father, Hail Mary, Halleluhah, and arrangements of the Santiago Ave Maria, Lamb of God, and many others.  

Vanacore’s experience leading symphony orchestras and choirs extends across the U.S., from the Los Angeles Philharmonic to the Atlanta Symphony.  

Internationally, he has led both the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Boys Choir, and he has led the philharmonic orchestras of Calgary, London, and Belgrade, among others.  

In his career, Vanacore has also worked with accomplished artists such as the Jackson Five, Fifth Dimension, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, and Johnny Mathis. In 2004, he won the Grammy for his work on “Over the Rainbow.”  

Television credits include music for the 2005 Academy Awards show, Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice,” “Survivor,” and “American Idol.”  He received the 2009 Telly Award for his musical contribution to the City of Hope cancer center’s fundraising video entitled “Thank You.”

Vanacore comes to Saint Kateri after 25 years as Musical Director/Pianist at St. Euphrasia Catholic Church in Granada Hills, CA.
