Voters victimized

Candidates running for office in some situations pull out all the stops to win the election. The old phrase “Promises made, gifts exchanged” applies.

Quite recently in Texas, Senator Ted Cruz promised his future constituents that he would repeal Obamacare. Plain fact of the matter is he knew he couldn’t.

Ted Cruz put together a very slick political machine. He had plenty of campaign contributions from those voters resisting change and the Affordable Care Act.

Cruz tried to do what he promised the voters, knowing full well his efforts would fail. But the fallback position for him was that he could say he tried.

His efforts cost the taxpayers of the entire country some $28 billion.

And this kind of strategy hasn’t just been used by Senator Ted Cruz; his fellow conspirator is Mark Meadows, and he’s been elected to the House of Representatives and seems to employ the same strategy with voters.
The strategy is to seize on a troubling issue with voters and exploit it to get yourself elected. By being against the

Affordable Care Act, you align yourself with powerful allies like Rupert Murdock and Fox News.

Most Americans are hard-working individuals busy raising families. The amount of time a person can spend analyzing the political issues is limited.

We all come to rely on political spin doctors. The worst of the spin doctors is Rush Limbaugh. Fact is that some of these spin doctors will say anything to get a share of the ratings market.

Then there’s Fox News, which consistently and deliberately misleads on important issues. Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity come across as sincere newsmen interested in the truth, but they are not. It’s about ratings.

In all of this these individuals mentioned are protected by free speech — as am I. However, when individuals’ antics are designed to bring down the government, it’s treason.
