Canyon Country West Crime Report: deputies investigate robbery, burglaries

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Robbery, (4) Residential Burglaries, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (1) Petty Theft, (2) GTAs and (1) Arson.

A strong arm robbery occurred near the 18500 block of Soledad Canyon Road. Two male suspects confronted the victim as she was opening the location for business. The suspects ordered the victim to open the safe in the rear of the business. After the victim complied, the suspects tied the victim up with bungee cords and duct and fled the location. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.

There were four residential burglaries in the neighborhoods located north/east of Whites Canyon Road and Nadal Street. All four incidents involved unknown suspects gaining access to the residents by shattering a rear window. Firearms, as well as several electronic items, were taken during the incidents. A 2003 silver BMW with yellow paper plates was seen leaving one of the locations. If anyone has information concerning the burglaries, please call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Burglary Detectives.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 16000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road. An unknown suspect broke into four storage sheds located on the property and took several tools.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 18700 block of Mandan Street. An unknown suspect shattered the driver’s side window and took a stereo and miscellaneous clothing.

A 1999 Toyota Camry was taken near the 19500 block of Fairweather Street. The vehicle was recovered two days later.

A 2010 Ford Mustang was taken near the 18800 block of Soledad Canyon Road. The vehicle was recovered near the 26800 block of Sprint Court when an unknown suspect set the mustang ablaze with an unknown accelerant. An arson report was taken in addition to the recovery.
