I wholeheartedly endorse Diane for City Council.

I have never met anyone who does the homework necessary to make important decisions like Diane. She reads background material and actually listens to perspectives of those who will be impacted by her decisions. Only then does she take a position, and actually follows through with actions necessary to support her decision.

Currently a planning commissioner, she demonstrated her knowledge about the problems confronting this community during the many candidates' forums. She also demonstrated her incredible grasp of the big-picture solutions that will be needed.

In addition, I have always seen Diane as a champion of the local person, who is supportive of the rights of neighborhoods. An example of this is her support of hospital expansion and the nearby neighborhood.

She has continually supported the hospital-expansion part of the plan, with a guarantee for hospital space's actually being built, while exploring alternatives to the part of the G&L plan that would negatively impact the community. Through her work with many organizations, Diane has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of people in the community.

As PTA legislative chair, she was one of the early opponents fighting Cemex. In response to the rent issues of local seniors, Diane not only helped form and now chairs the Save Our Seniors group, but has expanded it to find solutions to other problems as well.

She works tirelessly to make Santa Clarita a more environmentally friendly place, working with environmental groups and committees and has testified before the California Air Resources Board and AQMD.

I encourage you to vote for my long-time friend, who is a person of true personal and professional integrity, Diane Trautman.
