With the celebration of Thanksgiving and the nature of the holiday season thankfully there were only two reported Part-1 crimes. The first was a theft from a boat in the 22300 block of Festividad Drive between November 20th and November 25th. Someone cut the cover of the victim’s boat and stole over $1,900 worth of equipment.

There was a petty theft from Saugus High School between November 4th and November 8th. Someone stole a vacuum from the custodian’s office throughout the week. Detectives are checking surveillance video to see if the incident was caught on tape.

With the holiday season upon us I would like to remind you about a crime trend we see this time of year. Vehicle burglaries and thefts from unlocked vehicles usually spike during this season. Please remember to lock you vehicle. If you have items of value please keep them out of sight and if at all possible lock them in your trunk. The best defense for these types of crimes is to take all items of value with you when leaving your vehicle unattended. I wish you a great holiday season and stay safe.

If you have any information regarding the above mentioned crimes please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

To report graffiti in the city please call (661) 25-CLEAN (252-5326) or visit
