SANTA CLARITA - Members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on whether to approve a series of permits and plans to expand Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch in Placerita Canyon.

Tuesday’s votes are largely procedural, as supervisors already approved plans for the expansion in August.

Under two scenarios approved by the board, the Walt Disney Company and ABC Studios have the option to construct either 12 sound stages, approximately 555,950 square feet of structures, or eight sound stages, which would total around 510,000 square feet of structures.

The ranch, located on Placerita Canyon Road near Highway 14 in Newhall, is a major filming site for the Walt Disney Company and ABC Studios.

Proponents of the project say the expansion would be a boon for the filming industry in the Santa Clarita Valley.
