About that roundabout...

I have to honestly admit that I thought that I would never witness Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum at work.

First the changing of the name of San Fernando Road that has been with us nearly 100 years. Then the back-in parking. Then the bicycle lane on Decoro Drive. All a waste of our tax dollars.

And now the “roundabout” in front of Hart Park? Maybe at Bouquet Junction but not in front of Hart Park? “Come on man!”

At times there has been some back up on Walnut Street to turn right onto San Fernando Road but not to the extreme that the City Council had to spend/waste all that money for a roundabout. There was a need for it at the Hasley Canyon off-ramp from the I-5, but not in front of Hart Park.

Whose idea was this anyway? Who investigated the need for a roundabout?

Please don’t tell me it was Frank Ferry’s ideas. This has and is a total waste of our tax dollars. Just because you have a lot of extra money left in your budget to spend the least you could have done was look into the future and think of something good to spend the money on. This was just a knee-jerk decision if anything.

A roundabout is so ludicrous. I have said this before and I will say it again. How about consulting with those that have been taxed and it’s our money that you are thinking about squandering. Maybe a committee of volunteer citizens that care about our city instead of a” group of five” that just want to spend and spend and spend just because it’s there and end up with a bunch of ridiculous projects that eventfully get reversed and no one wants.

May I suggest that you just plant a weed in the middle of the roundabout and just let it grow? This has just been another waste of our tax dollars.

What’s going on at City Hall? Time for a change.

One citizen’s opinion.
