Strong winds and low humidity have led National Weather Service forecasters to issue a red flag warning for the Santa Clarita Valley from 3 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A wind advisory is also in effect, with winds from the north and northeast whipping strongest through the SCV, bringing gusts of up to 50 mph.

The NWS warns the high winds could make driving difficult on Interstate 5 and Highway 14, especially for high-profile vehicles.

The winds are expected to be strongest each day between mid-morning and mid-afternoon, according to the NWS.

The blustery weather is predicted to die down Wednesday, bringing calm, sunny skies heading into the weekend.
