Art and music patrons will celebrate 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today as "Love is in the Air" - the annual benefit of the Santa Clarita Creative Guild - unfolds in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia. The Art Show will feature paintings, sculptures, arts/craft and other forms of visual art. The day will also feature a concert from the "Back on Track" music group with their farewell performance before the groups leave for their Asian tour. The event will benefit various art-enrichment programs of the Guild, geared for the SCV Youth and the SCV Senior Center. Tickets are $25 (prepaid) and $40 at the door. April 5
"The Newhall Incident" 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society. A retired Newhall California Highway Patrol officer, Harry Ingold, one of the first officers on the scene following the massacre, will speak on the 1979 tragedy where four young CHP officers were gunned down on April 5, 1970, in the lot of a Standard Service Station next to J's Coffee Shop on what is now the intersection of the Old Road and Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia. April 11
City of Santa Clarita Eggstravaganza. Citywide egg hunts. 10 a.m. Saturday, April 11. Egg hunts will take place at Canyon Country Park, Central Park, and Valencia Glen Park. Hunters will be grouped by age. The event is free and begins promptly at 10 a.m. Info: (661) 286-4018,

April 18
