The company founded by a Canyon Country resident accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife has filed for bankruptcy and will have its assets up for auction later this month, according to a news release.

Creation’s Garden, a Valencia company founded by 52-year-old Dino Roy Guglielmelli in 1993, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 20, according to the news release — shortly after he pleaded not guilty to allegedly trying to hire a man to kill his wife.

The business started in Newhall but later moved to a location in the Valencia Industrial Center near Castaic Junction.
Since its founding, the company has been built into a multimillion-dollar business specializing in nutritional supplements.

Guglielmelli was arrested Oct. 3 and, in December, was ordered to stand trial on charges of attempted, willful, deliberate and premeditated murder and solicitation of murder, according to officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

Guglielmelli is in custody at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in lieu of $10 million bail, according to information from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The assets of Creation’s Garden are being auctioned by Tiger Group’s Remarketing Services Division and Reich Brothers, according to a news release.

“At its peak, (Creation’s) Garden posted annual sales of approximately $50 million, with its products sold at such retailers as Target, Sam’s Club, BJs Wholesale Club, Walgreens, Duane Reade, Hi Health, TJ Maxx, and AM/PM,” the news release reads. “The bankrupt company’s product lines include skin care, hair care, nutraceuticals, organic supplements, tattoo and piercing skin care, organic pet supplements, beverages, powdered drinks and energy shots.”

Creation’s Garden also at one point had more than 300 employees, held more than 160,000 square feet of manufacturing space and maintained a laboratory staffed with microbiologists, research developers and biochemists, according to information on the company’s website.

Auction of the company’s assets is scheduled for Feb. 12 and 13 and will take place both days at 10:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Drive in Valencia.

The auction will also be live webcast at
