Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s detectives are still looking for a man who robbed a Canyon Country liquor store at gunpoint Tuesday and fled with the clerk’s wallet and money from the register, a sheriff’s official said.

“The case has been assigned to detectives and there are no new leads,” Lt. Brenda Cambra said Wednesday.

The suspect walked into Art’s Liquor Store in the 18300 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country at approximately 12:45 p.m., Cambra said. During a transaction with the store clerk, the suspect pulled a handgun on the clerk.

“He forced the employee to hand over his wallet and took the money from the register,” she said.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading west on Soledad Canyon Road.

Deputies are looking for the suspect described as a black male, between 23- and 25-years old, standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the robbery. They ask anyone with information about it to call the sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121.
