The Santa Clarita Valley’s premier basketball showcase game is back for the fifth year and will feature a food truck festival for the first time.

The Signal’s fifth annual SCV Hoops Finale, the area’s boys and girls basketball senior all-star games, will take place March 29 at West Ranch High School and admission for the fifth straight year is $5 at the door.

All proceeds from admission to the game will benefit the William S. Hart Union High School District’s WiSH Education Foundation, with money specifically going to help special education programs throughout the school district.

The event has benefited people with special needs each year.

Some proceeds from the food truck festival will also go toward the WiSH Foundation.

“Most of us are fortunate to not need these funds, but in the spirit of taking care of our own this is a great opportunity to enjoy a family night and raise funds for special education in the Hart district,” said Amy Daniels, executive director of the foundation.

Said Hart district spokeswoman Gail Pinsker added: “We would love to have all our Hart district family come out and enjoy this event as well as future Hart district students. We would love elementary school kids to see what it would be like to be a student in the Hart district.”

The Signal’s annual game will feature teams from the six Foothill League schools as well as private schools Santa Clarita Christian and Trinity Classical Academy.

There will also be a 3-point contest for the girls and slam dunk competition for the boys.

Last year, the event was held at Valencia High School and West Ranch senior Hannah Green won the girls game MVP, while scoring a girls game record of 21 points.

West Ranch’s Kevin Harris was the MVP of last year’s boys game.

There will be more updates on the event on and in the days leading up to March 29. Or for more information email
