Thursday @ Newhall Events Continue this April

This month’s Thursday @ Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues with the second installment of Art SLAM, J.A.M. Sessions and Senses.

Make plans to stop by Art SLAM tonight between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and enjoy an event centered on the common theme of cheese. The event will include FREE tastings, demonstrations and naturally-made art exhibits, with support from businesses like Salt Creek Grille, Kokolita Cakes, Newhall Refinery, Baker’s Gourmet, Vincenzo’s Pizza and many more.

The interactive musical movement J.A.M. Sessions returns to Main Street Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with demonstrations of Balinese Dance and Music performed by the CalARTS Balinese Ensemble. Using collective instruments called the Semar Pegulingan, the Ensemble will interpret this ancient, religious dance tradition through various techniques that will have the audience on their feet. This FREE session is presented in partnership by the Ford Theatre Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation and the City of Santa Clarita. To learn more, visit

Then, Santa Clarita’s favorite block party, Senses, returns andwelcomes cowboys and cowgirls to rediscover the spirit of the Old West with a Rockin’ Rodeo event on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In anticipation of the 21st Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, Main Street will be the backdrop for the wildest event in town, including live country music, mechanical bull rides, line dancing, trick roping, gourmet food trucks, street performers, and the unveiling of two plaques as part of the Walk of Western Stars. The induction ceremony celebrating the contributions of Charles Bronson and Steve McQueen is open to the public and will take place at 7:00 p.m.
