The old adage “There’s no such thing as a free lunch” doesn’t apply to Santa Clarita Valley youngsters this summer.

Under the federal child nutrition program called the USDA Summer Meal Program, the Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency is offering free lunches to SCV youngsters ages 1 year to 18 years. There are no income restrictions.

The meals must be consumed where they are served; no taking food home.

Mentally or physically disabled people 19 years and older who participate during regular school periods in a public or private nonprofit school program are also eligible to participate in the program.

For more information, contact the Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency at 661-295-1574 ext. 103.
