Those disturbed by World Run can give up a little sleep and help out

In response to the letter to the editor “Wings for Life World Run disturbed the peace for 2 hours,” published May 6, I urge John Annoreno to stop for a moment and think about the purpose of the Wings for Life World Run.

You and other neighbors may have been “disturbed” for several hours, but the funding the race raises is for research to help those with spinal cord injuries. These people are “inconvenienced” for life.

Some are babies born with a spinal defect, some have been injured in service to our country, others injured were in accidents.

Whatever the cause, I think anyone can “give” a few hours of quiet for a good cause affecting the lifetimes of others.

Hooray for the city of Santa Clarita for stepping up and giving folks an opportunity to help in raising needed funds.

About $4 million was raised.

Perhaps next year, if the run is organized again, you and others could join the party for a few hours ... help out as long as you’re up, anyway ... walk home on your “able legs” ...and take a nap!
