During the past week, the criminal incidents reported in Valencia included vehicle burglaries and grand thefts from lockers.

There were four vehicle burglaries that occurred over the weekend between the hours of 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Victims reported that their vehicles were parked in business parking lots. Entrance and exit were made by smashing passenger windows or punched key holes on the driver side doors. Items stolen were a wallet, purse, IPhone, IPad, sunglasses and Beats head phones. The items stolen were in the center console areas or on rear back seats visible from the outside of the vehicles.

Two grand thefts occurred at 28200 block of Newhall Ranch Road between the hours of 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm. The victims reported placing personal items inside the gym lockers while using the facilities. The victims returned to find the locks gone off their lockers and the items stolen (wallets and keys). The investigation regarding these incidents is currently ongoing.

Do not become a victim! Please use caution and be cognizant of your surroundings. Do not leave items unattended in public areas or visible in your vehicle. Take all personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle or secure items in locked trunks. Do not leave items underneath vehicle seats or cover them with clothing apparel or blankets. Thieves know this technique. Remember to roll up all windows and lock doors before walking away from your vehicle. Keep the serial numbers of electronic items, such as cell phones, lap tops, IPads, on file in the event that it is stolen to aid its recovery.
