AMR to provide free CPR training

Employees from American Medical Response — a local EMS provider in the Santa Clarita Valley — will provide free CPR training to community members Wednesday at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

The training will be held in front of TGI Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event, which is part of AMR’s nationwide observance of National Emergency Medical Services Week — will teach compression-only CPR, which “allows bystanders to keep life-saving blood flowing through a victim’s body just by pressing on the chest in a hard, fast rhythm,” according to a news release from AMR.

“Bystanders who provide compression-only CPR can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chances of survival,” the news release reads.
