The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.

Deputies responded to the 3100 block of Ridge Route Road for an assault with a deadly weapon call.  A male adult confronted several men who were with his girlfriend at a local hotel.  An argument ensued and one male was slashed on the face with a knife.  The suspect with the knife then slashed all four tires on the boyfriend’s SUV before fleeing in an unknown vehicle. Responding deputies searched the area for the suspect vehicle but it was not located.  Several hours later, the suspect vehicle returned to the hotel.  The boyfriend said he stepped into the street to get the license plate of the vehicle and the driver swerved the car in his direction in an attempt to hit him.  Deputies responded and a second assault with a deadly weapon report was written.  The suspect is still outstanding.

A 2009 Honda Civic was reported stolen from Church Street in Castaic.  The vehicle owner said her ex-boyfriend took the vehicle without her permission.  The vehicle was recovered by L.A.P.D. in West Valley.

A business in the 2700 block of Fantastic Lane reported $4000 worth of damage after a break in to their studios.  Several rooms were ransacked and fire extinguishers were sprayed throughout the business.  It is unknown how the suspects made entry.

A business on Castaic Road reported several thousand dollars’ worth of prescription glasses stolen.  The suspects made entry by prying open the back door to the business.

A park in Val Verde had an electrical room door pried open.  No items inside the room were taken.  Damage was estimated at $400.
