The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is seeking public assistance to identify two cases of possible child annoyance.

Deputies made contact on May 31 with a 16-year-old female victim.

The victim reported on May 27 at approximately 2:15 p.m., she was putting gas in her vehicle at a station located in the area of Pico Canyon and The Old Road.

While pumping gas, she was approached by a black male driving a later model black vehicle, the victim reported.

The black male looked about 25 years old and 6 feet tall with a thin build.

He asked the victim if she was still in high school, to which she responded: “Yes.”

The male continued to follow and stare as she walked away.

She said she felt very uncomfortable and scared as the male continued to follow her, prompting her to get into her vehicle and drive away. (ref -06681)

Detectives were able to obtain surveillance photos taken from the gas station, which depicted the male.

Detectives are investigating a second incident of an alleged child annoyance on May 23 at approximately 8:10 a.m. in the area of Honby Street and Cedarcreek Street in Canyon Country.

A 13-year-old female reported she was approached by a male in a black vehicle while walking to school.

The driver (male) asked the girl if she needed a ride, to which she responded by walking in the other direction.

The driver then turned around and drove slowly past her again. The girl ran to her friend’s nearby home because she began to fear driver.

The vehicle then drove out of view. (ref -06334)
