SCV Youth Project to host Fourth Annual ‘Bowling For Youts' will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at Valencia Lanes in Newhall. The SCV Youth Project provides free on-campus support services. The annual Our Lady of Perpetual Help Teabags will host the annual Tea and Garden Tour at the Valencia home of Sally Coss on Sunday, April 26. The 21st annual Taste of the Town - Santa Clarita's premiere food and wine tasting event will be held at Mann BioMedical Park in Valencia to benefit the Child & Family Center. Red Cross to honor heroes
The Red Cross is seeking nominations for SCV residents who have taken action in a time of crisis to help others in the past year and consistently show exemplary compassion. The American Red Cross will hold its annual "Hometown Heroes Recognition Breakfast" 7 a.m. Friday, September 11 at the Valencia Hyatt, 2455 Town Center Valley, Valencia. Earth Day fashion show
Valencia's Rituals Salon will host Santa Clarita's first ever eco-friendly fashion show 3 p.m. today at 26918 The Old Road, Valencia. The show will feature modern styles crafted from hemp, organic cotton, bamboo, and recycled materials, benefiting The Surfrider Foundation. Soccer signups until May 31
Registration for the upcoming Fall AYSO soccer season will take place April through May 31 for the Santa Clarita Valley. There are a series of walk-in registrations at local schools, though one can also be registered online. AYSO Region 678 is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that provides age-specific soccer programs for children from age 5 to 18. Parent-volunteers welcome. Info:

Self defense for women at COC

Valley church loss sessions
The Friendly Valley Community Church will host weekly classes centered on the theme "Who am I now that I am alone?" 1 - 2:30 p.m. beginning Monday, April 20 and continuing on Mondays until June 22 in the Elmore Room, 19246 Avenue of the Oaks, Newhall. Start Smart class for teens at CHP
The Start Smart class is aimed at helping newly licensed drivers and future licensed teenage drivers become aware of the responsibilities that accompany the privilege of being a licensed California driver. Teens attend this class with their parent(s). The class is held at the Newhall Area California Highway Patrol Station, 28648 The Old Road, Valencia. ‘Off the Grid' meeting

Relay for Life captain meeting

The Hart School District, SCV School and Business Alliance, and College of the Canyons are among the sponsors of SCV's second Annual Discovering Careers program.
