U.S. HealthWorks has acquired some 6,000 square feet of extra space for expansion of its Santa Clarita headquarters offices, an executive with the firm confirmed.

“We’ve basically grown out of our corporate office space,” said Joe Mallas, Chief Operating Officer for the occupational healthcare firm.

The company has been steadily acquiring urgent and occupational healthcare centers around the country for the past four or more years, resulting in the need for more space at its Valencia offices.

One of the country’s largest operators of occupational healthcare centers, U.S. HealthWorks now has 218 centers nationwide and sites in 19 states employing more than 3,300 people according to a spokesperson for the firm.

Locally, the company has nearly 350 employees in the Santa Clarita area.

There are 69 people working at the corporate offices on Springfield Court, 230 employees at its billing and support center off Rye Canyon Road, and 50 people operating two local urgent and occupational care medical centers in the area, Mallas said.

The company’s current expansion plans include the lease of additional office space on the same floor that the corporate office currently occupies on Springfield Court, as well as reconfiguring space at its billing and support center, he said.

“Our growth requires additional space for our billing and support services to help support our business,” Mallas said.

U.S. HealthWorks is a subsidiary of Dignity Health. It expects to continue acquiring medical centers around the country.
