Hart district board members recently approved two new assistant principals — continuing a summer surge of new administrators ahead of the upcoming school year.

Members of the William S. Hart Union High School District board voted last week to tab Matt Hinze to serve as an assistant principal at Sierra Vista Junior High School. Earlier, on July 16, board members appointed Jennifer Ambrose to serve as assistant principal at Golden Valley High School.

Ambrose and Hinze are the latest in what has been a steady stream of new administrators throughout the Hart district.

A Hart district employee since 2004, Ambrose worked at Canyon High School from 2005 to 2011. She has most recently served as a peer assistance and review consulting teacher and induction mentor since 2011.

“I am so excited to be an assistant principal at Golden Valley High School,” said Ambrose, in a news release from the district. “I look forward to working with all the students, staff, parents and community members over this next school year.”

This position opened up after assistant principal Carolyn Hoffman was tabbed to take over as principal at Sierra Vista Junior High School in May, where she will now be working alongside Hinze.

Hinze began working for the Hart district as a substitute teacher in 2003, and worked as a teacher at Saugus High School. He has also served as English department chair and member-at-large to the Hart District Teachers Association.

“I am thrilled with the opportunity to serve the Sierra Vista community as their new assistant principal,” Hinze said. “Sierra Vista has a long tradition of academic excellence, and I am eager to be a part of their legacy.”

Both Hinze and Ambrose’s new assignments are effective immediately.
