Tips for stopping robocalls

I share Don Gately’s disdain for robocallers. The National Do Not Call Registry only works for some callers who actually follow the law.

It has helped but has not fully addressed this really annoying problem.

Call blocking also helps, but these clever weasels have figured out that they can spoof phone numbers and names to circumvent blocking.

I did find a service that has considerably cut down the volume of calls. The only ones that get through now are those that spoof legitimate phone numbers — a practice that should be banned by the FCC, but that Congress and the phone companies don’t seem to think is all that important or possible.

Go on-line to and sign up to have these types of calls blocked.

It’s free and easy, and by participating you are helping to build a database of phone numbers used by these creeps to annoy us.

Nomorobo will also start to block political robocalls.
