Newhall streets lit up with holiday spirit

‘Light Up Main Street’ event brings hundreds of visitors

To a chorus of cheers and a hearty “ho, ho, ho,” Santa Clarita city officials kicked off the holiday season Saturday by lighting up Main Street in Newhall.

Hundreds of visitors turned out to the city’s “Light Up Main Street” event to take in the elaborate display that included a 23-foot-tall tree, lit and decorated at the Main Street entrance to the Newhall Library, lights wrapped around the trees along Main Street and two arching skylines.
