Unions cause education to suffer

A recent article in the L.A. Times was about the dismissal process inside the Los Angeles Unified School District to get rid of a teacher.

It seems that they have currently 160 teachers who have been fired but who are waiting through an appeals process and being paid full salary during the whole process. This runs about $10 million a year.

This goes on while the district contemplates layoffs. And you can take it to the bank that there will be no tenured teachers laid off.

So what, you ask, is it all about? The teachers' union has taken absolute control over education and all the monies that are involved. The union buys politicians and the politicians do the union bidding.

This has got to be turned around.

Education has got to be made to be about education, not the redistribution of wealth by these corrupt unions.
