Deep well injection gets extension

Sanitation officials say public has more time to comment on West Side hot-button issue

Sanitation officials currently gathering comments from the public on plans to build a deep well injection system on the West Side of the Santa Clarita Valley are giving citizens three more weeks to weigh in on the controversial subject.

Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District officials said Monday they would be extending their public comment period an extra 21 days beyond the previous March 2 deadline to allow further comment on a draft environmental study on the plan.
