Thursday proves day for mopping up in storm-damaged areas

Temperatures climbed into the 90s Thursday as Santa Clarita Valley residents cut up tree limbs and scraped up mud from a boisterous storm that swept through the area the day before.

One man was swept to his death in a storm-swollen creek in the San Bernardino National Forest during the series of Southern California thunderstorms.
