The final results are in and Laurie Ender and Bob Kellar will be taking the two seats open on the Santa Clarita City Council.

About 1,000 provisional and absentee ballots tabulated Wednesday did not change the outcome since the unofficial results were released April 8. Ender and Kellar held their significant lead over Bob Spierer, Diane Trautman and Maria Gutzeit.

Wednesday's results show that Ender, a city Parks and Recreation Commissioner, garnered the most votes at 6,180. Mayor Bob Kellar, who began serving on the council in 2000, received 6,135 votes.

With 5,089 votes, Bob Spierer remains in the No. 3 spot and Diane Trautman came in fourth with 4,959. Maria Gutzeit came in fifth with 2,800 votes.

Ender and Kellar will be sworn in at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

The final results also show that a total of 14,220 votes were cast in the election, which is the highest number of votes cast in a Santa Clarita city election in 16 years. Of that total, 9,905 of the ballots were absentee ballots, which is a record high for the city.
