A wine and hors d’oeuvres fundraiser at Salt Creek Grille, Town Center Drive, Valencia to benefit afterschool performing arts programs at the SCV Boys & Girls Club. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. $35 plus tax and gratituty. Reservations required: (661) 222-9999.

The Repertory East Playhouse will host its largest benefit of the year, Summer Evening with the REP: An Affair to Remember, on Saturday June 27, at the home of Jill Jackson, formerly of Dessert Alert. 6:30 p.m. reception, 8 p.m. special performance. Tickets are $25 per person and include: BBQ style catering by RSVP Catering, wine bar by Engelman Cellars, live entertainment, silent auction and dancing. Casual attire. Open house, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fourth anniversary party for Glen Ivy Day Spa, 24320 Town Center Dr., Valencia. July 4
Fourth of July activities in the SCV.  Parade: 9 a.m. Newhall. Main Street to Lyons to Orchard Village to Darby. Fireworks at the mall 9:15 p.m.

A Fourth of July celebration will be held at 2 p.m.  at VFW Post 6885 on 16208 Sierra Highway in Canyon Country. Barbecue will include  hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade side  dishes and desert. It is a family event, and current enlisted military personnel eat free all day. Live entertainment will be featured on stage 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and 8 midnight. Info:

July 13
SCV Senior Foundation Golf Showdown. The SCV Senior foundation will host its inaugural golf tournament fundraiser Monday, July 13 at TPC Valencia. Prizes will be offered at each hole and catering will be provided by Salt Creek Grille.
