One couple found a way to ditch the stress and costs of a wedding by bringing the ceremony to their temporary home in the Castaic RV Park — a first in at least 26 years.

Michelle Ondrias, 42, and Erik Denton, 29, said “I do” on Saturday afternoon in front of a good friend who was ordained just four days ago.

“We’re just here for a fun day,” Ondrias said.

The wedding was originally planned for August, but the stress was too much for Ondrias. The couple chose to elope, but still wanted something “out-of-the-ordinary.”

“Everyone goes to Vegas. We wanted to do something different than everyone else,” she said.

So they called a few friends and invited their neighbors to a casual wedding by the RV park pool Saturday afternoon for what Ondrias described as a “total redneck” wedding.

Castaic General Manager Ray Graeber said in his 26 years at the RV park, he’s seen memorial services, but never a wedding.

He helped set up chairs for the guests and ensured everything went smoothly.

Denton wore a camouflage shirt and shorts while Ondrias wore a white summer dress with a camouflage belt and cowboy boots.

One friend walked the ring-bearer Jack and flower-girl Daisy — the couple’s two dogs — who were also dressed in camouflage, down the aisle. And their friend Will Sexton, who was ordained earlier this week, performed the service, throwing in some jokes to make the ceremony fun and interesting.

A reception with pizza and beer was held afterward with the newly married couple’s friends and travel family who live at the RV park. Ondrias and Denton arrived at Castaic RV Park just a month ago after relocating from Huntington Beach for Denton’s contractor work.

“As soon as you get here you have a park family,” Ondrias said.

At the end of the celebration, the bride and groom rode off on bicycles trailing beer cans and with the traditional “just married” signs stuck inside the bicycle baskets.
