A new workout option is coming to Santa Clarita in the form of Snap Fitness.

Billed as the “alternative to big box” health clubs, the Minneapolis-based franchise operator is planning to open in 5,022 square feet of space in The Plaza at Golden Valley on the east end of Santa Clarita off Golden Valley and Lost Canyon roads near State Route 14.

With construction permits in hand from the city of Santa Clarita, Snap Fitness is going into the space next to the Bed Bath and Beyond store.

Founded in 2003, Snap Fitness provides 24/7 access without requiring any contracts from customers.

Using a franchise-based model, it has 1,500 locations and recently signed a major development deal with MSG Life Limited in the United Kingdom to open 30 Snap Fitness locations across the UK.

The chain has been ranked in the Franchise 500 years running in Entrepreneur Magazine, and made the Inc. 5000 list for the same period of time by Inc. Magazine.
