The Planning Commission's last meeting until Sept. 15 will kick off today with a 5:30 p.m. study session covering sustainable development projects in Santa Clarita.

There will be an overview of the recently launched; a presentation regarding solar system rebates; and Don Schramm of Green Convergence will share success stories regarding incorporation of "green" aspects into development projects.

On the agenda for the commission's 7 p.m. meeting is a request to move forward the potential annexation into the city of 123 Sand Canyon homes. If the commission approves the general plan amendment, the annexation request will go before the City Council sometime this fall. If the council approves, an annexation request would be filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission.

The Planning Commission study session will be held in the Century Conference Room, and the main meeting will be in the Council Chambers, at City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd.
