Santa Clarita-based Phantom Computer Services Inc. is celebrating its first year in business with a plan to help non-profit organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Beginning Saturday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., representatives of SCV non-profit groups are invited to bring their computers (laptops and towers) to College on the Canyons for free virus scans and diagnostics.

Other free diagnostic dates for non-profits include Aug. 1 and Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This event is made possible with the support of College of the Canyons, so 10 spots per event will be reserved for COC students.

To reserve your spot, contact Kristin Hampton at 661-803-5848.

In addition to the free computer support, the summer special includes a $100 donation to a Santa Clarita Valley non-profit for each new three-month maintenance contract signed. Through Sept. 30, any local company that signs a contract with Phantom will be able to receive high quality IT support and help the greater good of our community.

Inspired by the THINK SCV Campaign and the 3/50 Project, Phantom Computer Services Inc. is taking part by offering cost-effective solutions while giving back to those in need.

In an effort to keep local business engaged in the SCV community this new program is being offered with the following objectives:
* to help non-profit recipients receive free technical support;
* to augment financial support to local non-profits who have seen a significant decline in giving in the past year;
* to spread the wealth by giving local business a choice in which non-profit they wish to support;
* to meet the IT needs many businesses already face.

By purchasing a maintenance agreement with Phantom, clients can lower their overall IT costs by preventing costly downtime, and avoiding wasted expenses.

Kieran Wong, president of the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund, said, "The BMCF is facing a major decline in donations and has had to suspend funding for now. If SCV businesses need computer support and can help local cancer patients, along with other non-profits, it's a win-win-win."

Take action now. Think SCV and support your local organizations by calling Phantom today.
