The Canyon Theatre Guild and the Santa Clarita Regional Theatre will offer free theater for the rest of the year to those who find themselves unemployed. Upon showing proof of unemployment you may receive free tickets to shows for yourself and your family.

SCRT Executive Director TimBen Boydston said, "We know that times are hard for many people and we just want to help.

Sometimes, people need to escape from the harsh reality of today's economic conditions and theater can provide that escape. Our new season is filled with comedies and musicals and we think that putting some music and laughter in people's lives will help them through this difficult period."

Assistant Director of the CTG, Patti Finley, said, "We have always given scholarships for 10 percent of our workshop enrollment. This new offer is an extension of that program. In our workshops we expose children to the art of live theatre performing, and our Free Theatre offer will expose entire families to the magic of live theatre."
