Summer Meltdown Autism Awareness and Social Inclusion Concert
Produced by the Hart District's Yes I Can students, Summer Meltdown 2008 is set for Saturday, May 10 from 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater at Golden Valley High School in Canyon Country. The lineup: Trapt, Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction, The Craze, Guilt by Association, Conjob, Un:Armed, Mission Black, Cry Havoc, Surface Rising, Maxwell Smart and Renfue. Dancing in Paradise
The Hart High School Dance Team will present their annual dance show, Dancing in Paradise, on Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3 in the Hart High gym. Relay For Life Seeks Participants/Teams

Appreciation Days 2008
Santa Clarita Valley Appreciation Days 2008 will be held at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor on May 3 and 4. The Valencia theme park makes 4,000 tickets to Hurricane Harbor available to schools and non-profit organizations at $3 each, which the organizations sell to the public at $10 each. This is still a significant savings over the regular admission price (up to $19.99 per person) - and serves as a fundraiser for these organizations. Health Fair Volunteers Needed
One of the healthcare bargains of the year is scheduled for Saturday, May 10. The Santa Clarita Valley Community Health Fair Expo will offer free and low-cost health care screenings and information for adults 18 and over. The County of Los Angeles Public Library celebrates Dia de los Ninos, Dia de los Libros, a nationwide celebration that brings together children, books, languages and cultures. Salt Creek Fundraiser for Transplant Games
Salt Greek Grille will donate 10 percent of its proceeds on Sunday April 27 to support the 2008 U.S. Transplant Games, which will be held July 11- 16 in Pittsburgh. The funds will help provide scholarships to the national Transplant Games and inspire people to support life-saving organ and tissue donation. Castaic Days
The first ever Castaic Days will be a weekend festival of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, including live music performances, an evening movie on the lake, an in-water boat show, kids fishing, wake board demonstration, kayaking on the lake and a 10m/5k/1k run. SC Ballet's Tippy toes Tea
Join Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter at this year's Tippy Toes Tea on Saturday May 3. This annual ballet fundraiser continues to be a tradition for mothers, daughters, aunts and grandmas with ballerinas serving scones, tea cakes and surprises at a home in Placerita Canyon. This year's theme is a "Mad Hatter Tea Party," relating to Santa Clarita Ballet's June production of "Alice in Wonderland." SVC Rally for the Troops
The third annual SCV Rally for the Troops will be held on Saturday May 3, at 9 a.m. at the corner of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard. Come and show your support for our troops. Community Health Fair
The second annual Community Health Fair is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Community Center on Market Street in Newhall (just behind the Jan Heidt Metrolink Station). Over 45 community resource partners will provide free health and dental screenings, immunizations and workshops for adults and children. Sponsorships are available. Special Olympics Polar Plunge
On May 3 the Special Olympics Santa Clarita Valley will hold its third annual Polar Plunge event at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Jump into the Wave Pool to raise money, win rewards and have a good time. Spring Craft Boutique
On Saturday and Sunday May 3 and 4, a spring Craft Boutique will be held at the Recreation Center at Greenbrier Estates, 21310 Soledad Canyon Road, across from Mountasia Amusement Park. Hours will be 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. An auction will be held both days to benefit a local child battling leukemia. Armed Force Day Paintball Fundraiser
Paintball USA, in conjunction with Blue Star Mothers of the Canyons, Chapter 82, of Santa Clarita, will be conducting a fundraiser on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Paintball USA is located at 34855 Petersen Road, Agua Dulce.
