Two mountain lions spotted in Newhall
Two mountain lions were spotted near the 21300 block of Oakriver Lane of Newhall shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

While deputies reported that the mountain lion did not pose a threat to local residents, some small bones, apparently belonging to a small domestic animal, was found in the same area as the mountain lion.

The California Department of Fish and Game responded to the area. A large male mountain lion was chased into the rural portion of the area hillside, though there were no reports about what happened to the second mountain lion.

Deputies went door-to-door in the area to warn residents of the sightings.

School bus collides with city bus
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, a Santa Clarita transit bus collided with a William S. Hart High School District school bus in Newhall, according to the California Highway Patrol. There were 30 children on the school bus at the time of the traffic collision.

Officers said both busses had damage to its side-view mirrors, yet no one suffered any injuries.
