SCV Soroptimists host ‘Wine Affair’ Sept. 27

The newest local club of Soroptimist International, known as the Soroptimists of Greater Santa Clarita Valley (SIGSCV), will host its second annual "The Wine Affair...Sip, Stroll and Savor the Sounds" on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. along Town Center Drive in Valencia.

SIGSCV is thrilled to bring back this well attended and successful community event and hope that more people will want to take pleasure in a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll that can make such a difference in the lives of women.

A generous line-up of restaurants, retailers, wine bars, caterers, wineries and musicians will again be participating in this great social event. Currently, Vines at the Hyatt, Salt Creek Grille, Lee's Wine Bistro, Valencia Wine Company, Bella Sport, Ro,Ma Jewelers, White House Black Market, Glen Ivy Spa, and South Point Argentine Grill will host wine and food to strollers.

"Last year's inaugural Wine Affair was such an amazing success," said Rose Chegwin, who is again co-chairing the event along with fellow SIGSCV members Tamra Levine, Sheryl Geraci, Jo Ann Vindigni, Julie White and Darlene Gandara. "We knew we had to bring it back."

Mojitos Caribbean Cuisine, Vino 100, and An Affaire Extraordinaire will return this year. New to the event are "Puchella Winery, Southern Wine and Spirits, Wine 661, Silkwood Winery, Leona Valley Winery and TGIC Importers will be pouring wine. New food participants will be Heritage Lane Productions, The Oaks Grille at TPC Valencia, The Paseo Club, and Mediterranean Skewers.

Music is the key to this event - great live music performed by our areas best local musicians. Returning performancers include Joel Hill, Nutz & Boltz, Christine Day & Bruce Atkinson, and The Producers. Lee's Wine Bistro will spin great LPs and the new sounds of Vic Rocks, Ino Alvarez y su Descarga Cubana, Done Away with Faye and Blue Sky will set the rhythm for a great afternoon.

Tickets will be available at $40 in advance; $50 the day of the event. This event is limited to participants ages 21 and over.
