Kraut over the edge

In this whole health care debate, liberals consistently pretend that they wear the white hats, while everyone else wears the black ones.

However, Jonathan Kraut ("Reformers vs. hate and rage," The Signal, Aug. 18) has put so much bleach on his hat that the caustic chemical appears to have soaked into his brain.

Kraut claims that anyone who opposes Obama's attempt to take over 1/6 of the U.S. economy and create a massive new entitlement with gigantic and unsustainable debt (as though we don't have enough of both already) is somehow standing in the way of progress.

With clear hatred for anyone who dares dissent, Kraut claims the dissenters of this massive proposed train wreck are the ones full of hate.

Though 85 percent of the country is happy with their health care, Kraut thinks that anyone who stands in the way of changing this is wrong and irrational, or worse - selfish and greedy.

Though for 200 years nobody in this country thought "rights" were things taken out of someone else's pocket, Kraut thinks that by using the word "right" he can turn his new favorite entitlement into a human guarantee, thereby transforming his selfishness into selflessness, and turning theft into charity.

And though our Constitution specifically reserves rights to the states (so that massive mistakes like the one Obama is determined to make are not spread throughout the nation, without recourse), Kraut is certain that this inconvenient fact is trumped by his beknighted outlook.

To accomplish the goal, Kraut proposes to transform executives from "greedy" to benevolent by moving our health care from companies (which have to serve their customers or go out of business) to government (where a bureaucracy never dies and customers come dead last).

Oh, well. Let's just hope that some 10-month wait-listed Canadian specialist can treat Kraut's bleached-mind illness before it's too late.
