McKeon, come clean

The Congressional progressive Democrats are correct when they say we need a robust public health care option.

The competition it creates in the insurance market will in effect cause the rates to go down and the service to go up for all insured people in the United States.

This is a better way to put dollars back in the pockets of citizens regardless of their tax rate. If you pay in you'll get a reduction as an individual or as an employer.

Why are the Republicans in the House and Senate against having more money stay in the pockets of employers and employees?

As an employer I can attest to the fact that it costs $16,800 a year to purchase PPO coverage for an employee and their dependents in Southern California.

If the increased competition and larger pool of participants caused a mere 10 percent drop in rates that would save $1,680 per employee per year.

With a 50-50 split in cost between employer and employee, that equals an $840 savings for each of us. That is money back in your pocket year in and year out.

It seems Republicans want our money in the pockets of the insurance corporations, I want Buck McKeon to explain why it is more important for an insurance company to make unlimited profits than it is for the rate-paying employers and employees to keep more of their hard earned money in their pockets.

I want Buck McKeon to come clean and disclose on his Web site the amount of contributions he and his campaign and his party have accepted from the health insurance corporations.

Perhaps those numbers will make it understood why Buck McKeon and all the Republicans will vote to protect corporate profits, not our health.
