Sorry Buck, the glory years are over

The Signal article on the town hall meeting ("Town hall meeting draws ire," Sept. 27) failed to mention the best moment of the event.

The room erupted with applause and cheers from Republicans and Democrats when Congressman Howard P. "Buck" McKeon said, "George Bush is no longer our president!"

For eight years, the Republicans blamed everything that went wrong during Bush's tenure on Bill Clinton.

Now they're blaming everything that happened during the Bush years on Obama.

I'd like to remind them that the misery of the Bush administration - the unnecessary war, the national debt, torture and erosion of the Constitution, exporting jobs to China - are all part of the Bush legacy.

If there's anyone who needs public-option health care, it's the Republicans - so many of them are suffering from memory loss.

I'm sorry Buck, but there's not too many people who will follow you back to the glory of the Bush years.
