Castaic Days kicks off Friday

From an evening movie on the lake to a vintage car show, Castaic Days Outdoor Festival offers residents several family-friendly activities Friday and Saturday.

“Castaic Days is the perfect way for families to kick off fall activities by enjoying the great outdoors at Castaic Lake,” said Renee Sabol, founder and chairperson of Castaic Days, in a news release.

Castaic Days takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Castaic Lake. A list and schedule of events is posted on the Web site at Admission to the event is free and there is an $11 charge per vehicle for parking.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich returns for a second year as the honorary chairman of Castaic Days.

Friday’s activities include a farmer’s market, live entertainment, movie on the lake, food booths and more. The festival continues Saturday with a car show, model float plane demonstrations and the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center’s Rubbery Ducky Regatta.

Castaic Days will also partner with Help the Children of Santa Clarita. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good to benefit the local needy.

Sponsors include Antonovich,  Castaic Days Civic Association, Castaic Lake Recreational Area.
