As the economy continues to struggle, more and more people are seeking assistance to feed their families. Over 500 new families have signed up to receive food at Help the Children, a non-profit 501(c)3 charity, since Jan. 1. Donations have been drastically low during the summer months and food supplies have diminished.

The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays always spark the spirit of giving. Current needs include: cereal, ramen noodles, tuna, rice, dry beans, evaporated milk, individual juice boxes, sugar, flour, salt, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, crackers, canned chili, canned beans, and side dishes such as instant potatoes, Hamburger Helper, Rice-a-Roni, etc. Personal hygiene items and baby supplies such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, diapers and wipes are also gratefully accepted.

Help the Children - Santa Clarita is located at 26450 Ruether Ave., Ste. 208, Santa Clarita, CA.
