Wedding: Siezega — Rasmussen

Alexis Zoie Siezega and Taylor Alan Rasmussen were married on June 6, 2009 on the beach at Mandalay Bay Embassy Suites, Oxnard.

More than 200 people came to witness the reunion of two young people who have known each other since elementary school.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Bonni Siezega of Saugus and the granddaughter of Jean Barnett and Marjorie Siezega, both who attended the wedding from New York. She was given in marriage by her father at the sunset ceremony.

The bride’s Maid of Honor was Shirin Kouhkan, a friend from college.

Bridesmaids included friends Tara Martin, Crystal Berger, Andrea Hauke and cousins Jenelle Teranova and Kelly Pilarski.

The bride wore a mermaid-style diamond white gown adorned with crystals and a cathedral-length veil from Mon Amie Bridal Salon. She carried a bouquet of pink peonies, green orchids, pink calla lilies and roses, green hydrangeas, white stephanotis and crystals.

Her attendants wore dresses of chocolate brown and crème and carried bouquets of green orchids, pink peonies, roses and crystals.

The groom is the son of Charlie and Patti Rasmussen of Newhall. Best Man was Mike Bast of Phoenix, Ariz.  

Ushers were brothers Casey, Adam and Stephen Rasmussen, Keenan Siezega, brother of the bride and friend Jeff Sherman.

As children the couple attended Newhall Elementary School, Placerita Junior High and William S. Hart High School.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Hart High School.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Hart High School. .

The couple went their separate ways after high school — the bride to Santa Barbara and San Diego and the groom to San Luis Obispo and Arizona.

They became reunited at the Hart High graduation of their two younger brothers, Stephen and Keenan, in 2005. The couple started dating after that graduation night and the groom proposed using his mother’s wedding ring in July 2008.

Bloomies Florist in Newhall (where the bride worked for three years) provided the flowers for the ceremony. Gianna Provanzano-Kurtz of Gianna and Company, was the wedding coordinator.

The bride works for Gianna and Company as a wedding consultant and Universal Locations as a location agent. The groom owns and operates R&R rock quarry in Soledad Canyon. After a 10-day honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple returned to their home in Acton with their two dogs.
