WASHINGTON, D.C. - Thursday, Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) stood with his Republican colleagues and thousands upon thousands of Americans on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for an emergency call on Congress to reject Pelosi's latest plan for a government takeover of health care.

"What I saw today in Washington, D.C., was inspiring. Americans from across our nation bused, drove, and flew in from every corner to ensure their voices were heard by Democrats in Congress, who are set to pass a health care reform package aimed at a full government takeover of the current system. People are angry that they are being ignored, and it was never more evident than today."

For Californians in the 25th Congressional District of California, McKeon then hosted a tri-city telephone press conference for his constituents to hear about the call on Washington, ask questions, and let their voices be heard. Via a telephone conference, constituents at Santa Clarita, Victorville, and Palmdale City Halls were able to simultaneously participate in a district press conference.

"I know not all the constituents in my district were able to get to D.C. personally, but I know they are just as passionate about Pelosi's health care bill not passing into law, so I offered them an opportunity to tell Washington their thoughts. I hope Democrats will stop ignoring the American people and constituents in the 25th Congressional District."
